The National Research and Development Conference (NRDC) is a yearly activity that aims to promote coordination and collaboration among stakeholders of research and development (R&D) and innovation. It highlights ongoing and completed R&D projects and programs that are aligned to the priority areas of the Harmonized National Research and Development Agenda (HNRDA) that will be for the use or benefit of society, and those that may contribute to economic development.

The 7th NRDC will accommodate online and onsite participation on September 15 to 16, 2022. With the theme "Sustaining the R&D Momentum for Prosperity and Wealth Creation", the event will invoke the role of science and technology in developing innovations to support industry, especially the micro, small and medium-sized industries (MSMEs).

Innovation leads to new products, services, and processes and keeps companies ahead or at pace with market changes. Through research and development, problems in the industry can be solved and new business opportunities can be created.

The 7th NRDC will be a very good opportunity to encourage continued support in sustaining the R&D and innovation programs being implemented by the whole of government.

The event is organized in partnership with innovation movers in government, namely: the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of National Defense (DND), Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Transportation (DOTR), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA).
