The Grants-In-Aid Program of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-GIA) aims to harness the country's scientific and technological capabilities by providing financial grants to S&T programs/projects to spur a sustainable economic growth for the country.

It encourges participation of various sectors in Science and Technology (S&T) particularly in Research and Development (R&D), Technology Transfer, Human Resources Development, S&T Promotion, Advocacy and Linkages.

 In the past several years, the DOST-GIA program managed by the Special Projects Division (DOST-SPD), supported programs and projects geared towards more advanced R&D, technology transfer, improved manpower and S&T Services.

The DOST-GIA Program, through the leadership of the Undersecretary for R&D, provides financial grants to S&T programs/projects to spur and attain economic growth and development by harnessing the country's scientific and technological capabilities. The Special Projects Division as the primary arm of DOST in managing its GIA funds launched the gia.dost.gov.ph website to provide online information and resources about the program.
